Résumé

The development of a thermally driven ice slurry generation device was carried out jointly by ILK Dresden and the absorption chiller manufacturer WEGRA/EAW as part of the TAFEis project (thermally driven ice slurry generation for heating and cooling applications). The aim of the project was to extend the range of applications of thermally driven refrigeration systems and heat pumps that use water as a refrigerant for industrial or commercial purposes. In this way, potential energy savings can be realised in the supply of cooling and heating by using waste heat. In addition, the feasibility of a thermally ice slurry generation had to be demonstrated. The thermally driven ice slurry generation device provides useful cooling temperatures of below 0 °C as ice slurry. Ice slurry can also be used to store cold thermal energy.
