Résumé

The objective of these guidelines is to help developing country governments and industry to design and to establish recovery and recycling systems (together with related legislation) for CFC refrigerants, and to operate them efficiently. They focus on CFC-11, CFC-12 and CFC-115 (as component of R502) refrigerants, which are controlled under the Montreal Protocol as "Annex A Group 1" substances. The long-term objective is to eliminate CFC emissions to the atmosphere completely, and to contribute to a smooth transition to non-CFC technology within the refrigeration and air conditioning sector. Extract from the table of contents: the refrigerant management plan; designing, planning, establishing and operating of these systems; collecting data (analyses for: existing refrigeration sector; network for distributing refrigerants; trends and future demands; estimation of the potential for refrigerant recycling); evaluating the feasibility; regulatory support.
