Evaluation de la consommation d'énergie des systèmes indirects utilisant le CO2 comme frigoporteur dans les systèmes frigorifiques des supermarchés.

Energy consumption evaluation of indirect systems with CO2 as a secondary refrigerant in supermarket refrigeration.

Auteurs : SAWALHA S., PALM B.

Résumé

In the study, the authors investigated the influence of the pressure and temperature drops in the suction and return lines on the energy consumption of a supermarket refrigeration plant. The authors calculated the energy consumption of CO2 indirect systems with R404A, ammonia or propane as the primary refrigerant and compared it with a conventional direct expansion (DX) system with R404A or R502. CO2 pressure drop and the corresponding saturation temperature drop in the indirect circuit was calculated and compared with that of R404A. The energy consumption of R404A/CO2 indirect systems was found to be very close to that of the R404A-DX system using the same pipe size in the return and suction lines. Replacing R404A with ammonia or propane in the indirect system reduced the energy consumption. The study indicated that it is more economical to use a CO2 indirect system with a proper primary refrigerant rather than using the conventional DX systems.
