The guide has been developed in order to meet the safety and environmental needs of the progressive refrigerated cargo vessel industry. It is applicable to vessels which carry refrigerated cargoes such as fruits, meats, vegetables, fish, liquid, or other perishable goods whether in bulk, beak-bulk, palletized in the hold spaces, or in refrigerated containers of the porthole or plus-in types.
