Infiltration d'air par les portes des semi-remorques aux quais de chargement.

Air infiltration through loading dock truck-trailer doors.

Résumé

Most modern refrigerated warehouse facilities have enclosed loading areas. Many loading areas experience problems with condensation due to air infiltration from the outside ambient through dock doors. The air infiltration rate was measured using a tracer gas technique for truck-trailer dock doors in two loading areas (one with rubber flap protection between the dock and the trailer and one with pneumatic cushions). Presence of a truck-trailer unit reduced the rate of air infiltration by about 60% compared to a fully open dock without a unit in position, while the flap and cushion protection reduced rates further by a factor of about 3. For the fully protected docks, most of the infiltration was due to flow through gaps between the dock platform and the truck deck. Models based on Tamm's equation and flow through an orifice provided useful estimates of the infiltration rate through these gaps.
