Résumé

The article reviews the main centres of the Indian floriculture industry, Indian floricultural research, preservation, preservatives, packaging and factors affecting the vase life of cut flowers: roses, chrysanthemums, carnations, gerberas, lilies, China asters (Callistephus chinensis), orchids, gladioli, Anthurium, tuberose (Polianthes tuberosa) and bougainvillea. The main constraints affecting the industry are listed.
