Le Reefer 2000 : conception nouvelle et efficace du point de vue énergétique d'un conteneur de navire frigorifique utilisant du dioxyde de carbone comme frigorigène.

Reefer 2000, a new energy-efficient reefer container concept using carbon dioxide as refrigerant.

Résumé

A project carried out by the Danish Technological Institute in co-operation with industry and funded by the Danish Environmental Protection Agency has evaluated the various possibilities for Integrated Reefer Containers using natural refrigerants. Various working fluids were studied, mainly CO2 and nobelium. The last was abandoned due to high greenhouse potential. A CO2 transcritical cycle system was tested. Some improvements have to be made to the conventional circuit, in order to get a good COP (adjusted gas cooler with countercurrent transport of air, integration of an internal heat exchanger and development of a so-called Vortex-tube expansion valve). By means of such modifications the energy consumption is expected to remain at almost the same level as systems being optimized with R134a or R404A. In addition, a lower TEWI factor is expected when using CO2.
