This report in the "solutions" series, looks at the greenhouse gas emissions from the transportation sector in South Africa, to identify policies and technologies to simultaneously reduce emissions growth while improving air quality, reducing congestion, improving safety and enhancing transportation services. While projecting significant increases in transportation-related emission of CO2 in South Africa in the coming years, the report identifies public and private sector initiatives that could reduce emissions growth while easing traffic congestion and cutting air pollution.
