Résumé

In the refrigeration field, the utilization of natural gases as refrigerants seems to be the last chance left to the industry for its survival and hopefully development. The complete withdrawal of all classes of the so-called "synthetic" refrigerants is only a question of time and their replacement becomes a matter of extreme importance and urgency. The scope of this article is a simple, though as much exhaustive as possible information on the current situation. Probably, a conclusive outcome is not on sight at the moment.
