Mannequin thermique qui respire pour évaluer l'environnement intérieur dans les compartiments des véhicules.
Breathing thermal manikin for assessment of the indoor environment in vehicle compartments.
Auteurs : MELIKOV A.
Résumé
A recently developed breathing thermal manikin for assessment of thermal comfort and air quality in rooms and vehicle compartments is described. The body of the manikin is divided into segments. The surface temperature and the heat input to each segment is individually controlled. This makes it possible to measure the dry heat loss from the whole body and from the body segments. Thus occupants' thermal comfort can be assessed in uniform and non-uniform environments as they exist in practice, e.g. offices, vehicle compartments. The manikin is equipped with an artificial lung that simulates human breathing (breathing cycle, frequency of breathing, amount of respiratory air and temperature, humidity and gas concentration of the exhaled air). The temperature, humidity and gas concentration of the inhaled air is measured. This makes it possible to assess the quality of the air inhaled by occupants. The air distribution around the human body and in the breathing zone can be studied realistically. Furthermore, other effects that may affect drivers' vigilance, such as the de-icing and the de-fogging on windows, can be studied by means of the manikin. The manikin can be used for the optimal design of air distribution systems in buildings and in vehicle compartments as well as to assess people's response to the indoor environment.
