This standard is part of a series of twelve standards (see also this Bulletin, references 2001-0609 to 0614 and 0616 to 0620). Each standard defines at different levels requirements for refrigerated display cabinets for the sale or display, or both, of food products (it does not cover refrigerated vending machines, cabinets intended for use in catering and similar non-retail applications, or food service cabinets). This part specifies the method of classification and particular requirements for refrigerated display cabinets (decisions regarding the choice of types of food for display in the cabinets are not dealt with).
