Résumé

The objective of this assay is to evaluate the effects of packaging, environment and storage time on the microbiological growth and tannin concentration in S. tribolata. Glass, polypropylene and metallic paper packagings were used. A completely randomized design with 3 replications and split-plot scheme was used. The plots included the evaluation times and the split-plots the types of packaging. The methodology proposed by the Ministry of Agriculture was applied for the microbiological analyses. The dried and ground product, prepared from Sphagneticola trilobata leaves, was stored under refrigeration (5°C) and with metallic paper packaging. Under these conditions, product colour was preserved, moisture percent was lower, tannin concentration was higher and the medium countings of filamentous fungi and yeasts, aerobic mesophiles and Staphylococcus aureus were found to be within acceptable values. However, attention should be devoted to the sanitary conditions of the dried and ground product, since total coliform counting was high.
