Résumé
The electrostatic methods of charging particles or droplets and removing them from flow are widely used in the industry including refrigerating and air compressor technologies. The implementation of electrostatic oil separation technology to the air compressor installation and the refrigeration systems is the aim of investigation presented in this paper. The paper deals with separation of oil droplets from air and refrigerant vapour stream. In the electrostatic oil droplets separation the one of the most important problem is influence the electrical discharge on the chemical stability of refrigerant. The infrared spectroscopy is used to investigate the chemical stability of refrigerant. The experimental results is presented in this paper. R507 as the azeotropic mixture of HFC refrigerants was tested. This paper is the evidence that the corona discharge not influence on the chemical stability of refrigerant. The system of two parallel plate electrodes with one central discharge wire electrode and a system of cylindrical electrode with a center discharge wire electrode have been applied in the experiments. The experimental results showed that the increase of electric field intensity as well as ion current in the oil mist separation zone mostly influence on the efficiency of separation process for the case of oil droplet diameters lower than 5 pm.
