Résumé

In this study, experiments were conducted assuming refrigerant leakage from a split air conditioner installed in a room with dimensions 2.4 × 3.8 × 2.5 m. The experiments were conducted using R290, which had physical properties similar to those of CO2, as a refrigerant. The numerical simulation model was validated by comparing the simulation results with the experimental results. The integral of the combustible gas volume with respect to time was evaluated via the numerical simulation, which is important for the risk assessment of flammable refrigerants with low global warming potential. We investigated the effects of room area as well as the refrigerant charge on this integral. We also investigated the effect of agitating the indoor air by driving the indoor unit fan after the refrigerant leakage started.
