Résumé

The Covid-19 pandemic strongly impacted logistics under controlled temperature as for thermos-sensible health products with Covid-19 vaccines distribution explosion, as for perishables foodstuff transport. The new ranges of temperatures for vaccines transport at very low temperatures require suitable equipment. With the evolution of consumption habits, the development of home food delivery, online food consumption, last mile delivery meet a huge development with a lot of innovations. Cemafroid manages a large database of all French refrigerated transport fleet from a few dozen litres to several dozen cubic meters. Each type of equipment is described in detail from a technical point of view. Cemafroid also manages a database of thousands of refrigerated transport equipment test reports. In this context and based on this high quality data, the authors analysed the evolution of temperature-controlled transport fleet in France and Europe, and studied the main evolution tendencies. They particularly studied the refrigerated transport fleet typology and the technologies used for refrigeration but also the refrigerants and the sources of energy. Finally they present the perspectives of fleet evolution in the coming years.
