Résumé

Under certain conditions, potato storage in pallet boxes has proved to be an alternative to bulk storage. For up to 500 tons of potatoes, pallets box systems have lower mechanization costs and requires less manual labour. The cost advantages are only realizable when the pallet boxes are filled in the field. Systems for ventilating boxes range from simple wind ventilation with doors and windows to combined gravity ventilation with eaves and ridge openings or forced air ventilation.
