Transfert de chaleur et consommation d'énergie dans un échangeur de chaleur à racleur.

Heat transfer and power consumption in a scraped surface heat exchanger.

Résumé

An experiment was performed for cooling corn syrup water solutions as a process fluid pumped continuously through a typical scraped surface heat exchanger, which has four scraper blades supported freely on a rotor. The local heat transfer coefficient and the power consumption were measured by varying the flow rate of process fluid, the rotation frequency of scraper blade and the viscosity of corn syrup water solution for three kinds of scraped angle and different diameters of rotor, respectively. In addition, the fluctuation waveform of pressure on the scraped wall and the radial temperature distribution in the process fluid were measured simultaneously. The effects of Prandtl number, axial Reynolds number and Reynolds number of rotation on Nusselt number and power number were examined and discussed from the experimental results. Then it was found that Nusselt number were remarkably affected by the number and the contact conditions of scraper blades being in contact with the heat transfer surface.
