Résumé

The diagram of fresh fruit and vegetable distribution describes the channels via which domestic output and imports reach consumers (households, catering industry, food processsing industry and export markets). The value of the main flows has been evaluated based on various statistical sources, and the contribution of each function reported as a gross profit for that function. For 1997, the monetary value of consumption consisted of 31% of "gross" output, 23% of cost-insurance-freight imports and 46% of gross profit generated by commercial functions, from shipping to retail.
