Résumé

The surface energy influence to phase change of water vapour at initial stages of frost growth was studied to find an effective method. The mechanism of restraining frost growth by low energy surface (bigger contact angle) was analyzed by crystal growth theory, then water vapour phase change at different energy surface was observed by microscope. The result indicates that it is difficult for low energy surface to form critical embryo; it can restrain frost growth in a way. Then the process of frost growth on different surface was observed by microscope. The result indicates that both surface experience water formation-droplet growth-ice formation-dendritic ice growth progress. But the ice bead on hydrophobic surface form later than that on hydrophilic surface, and have larger average diameter and sparse distribution, the dendritic ice also appear later. All of this support that low energy surface can retard ice crystal formation at initial stage of frost growth and dendritic crystal growth, using low energy surface to restrain frost growth is a valuable method.
