Résumé

The global performance of refrigerated vehicles depends on the conception of the equipment, the materials and components used and the quality of manufacturing. The United Nations certification delivered in accordance with the Agreement for Transport of Perishables, ATP, guarantee a minimum level of performance based on type tests, allowing certain design variations. A robust certification scheme requires a final control of the real quality of production. Cemafroid started five years ago a large campaign to assess the real performance of new refrigerated transport equipment. The production failures were analyzed and audits were conducted on manufacturing lines to determine the causes of the non-conformities. After measuring and analyzing the performance of semi-trailers, trucks, light vehicles and internally insulated vans, Cemafroid conducted a new campaign on semi-trailers. The authors present the results of this new test campaign conducted in 2022 and the evolution of the quality of the production since 2017 and the first campaign. The analysis of the results shows how the different manufacturers took into account the results of the first campaign and improved their production.
