Résumé
Carbon dioxide evolution was used to determine the respiration rate and carbon dioxide production per unit mass of soybean at different storage temperature and moisture content. Treatments included soybean moisture content of about 14, 18, 22 and 26% (wet basis), stored in temperature of about 15, 20, 25 and 30 °C, cycling from 15 to 25 °C and from 20 to 30 °C on a 24-hour basis. The respiration of soybean increased with increasing storage temperature and moisture content. However, the respiration of soybean seemed to be constant with the storage time at low storage temperature. The relations of carbon dioxide production from soybean seeds versus storage time were fitted. This relation seemed to be a polynomial equation. Storage temperature was the most important effecting factor on the respiration of soybean. An increase in the storage temperature led to an increase in the respiration rate of soybean per unit mass of dry matter.
