Résumé

These proceedings and its appendix contain 52 papers of the IXth European conference, held in Milan, Italy, on June 29-30, 2001, organized with the participation of the IIR. The papers are mostly in Italian (sixteen papers are in English and two are in French). Topics include: new refrigerants and perspectives: new European regulations (national and international regulations; new synthetic and natural refrigerants, particularly ammonia; recovery; alternative mixtures; new fluids for system design; secondary refrigerants; lubricants for synthetic and natural refrigerants); new components and equipment: results and updates in new systems (new ammonia and absorption cycles and plants; new secondary refrigerant plants: ice slurry technology; new technologies in heat pumps, compressors, energy optimization and new components for refrigerating plants; condensate discharge in air conditioning); new technologies in Europe and the rest of the world (refrigeration and air conditioning: technological trends; new refrigerants; absorption and energy optimization); the greenhouse effect: improving energy efficiency of installations (design systems and maintenance optimization; quality of refrigeration systems, leak prevention, devices; refrigeration fluid recovery in installations); new control technologies (temperature control in commercial and industrial refrigerator, automation and controls in the food industry); new technologies in the cold chain (freezing and chilled storage; controlled atmosphere; laws and new technologies in transport).
