Résumé

This document provides 8 case studies on non-HCFC options, as well as examples of non-HCFC projects that have been approved by the Multilateral Fund: R404A for flooded type heat exchangers in a fishery conditioning facility; new supermarket refrigeration plant with 35 kg propane; chillers designed to replace R22 with R134a; a compressor for chlorine-free 407 series refrigerants; cyclopentane technology for refrigerator insulating foaming; R404A used in a deep freezer facility to freeze 16 million meals a year; R404A replaces R502 in walk-in freezer; R410A for new chillers. The annexes give: a glossary; the decisions taken by the Parties to the Montreal Protocol and the Multilateral Fund; examples on non-HCFC refrigeration sector projects approved by the Multilateral Fund; refrigerant data; selected references for the replacement of HCFCs in the refrigeration sector and contacts.
