BETTED
The main scope of the project BETTED is to facilitate dairy supply chain SMEs to foster the market uptake of energy efficiency measures including the use of renewables and the deployment of heat. BETTED stands for Boosting Energy Transition of ThE Dairy value chain.
Objectives
The project BETTED aims to significantly contribute to the reduction of fossil fuels dependency which the objective is to focus on:

- create a capacity-building program and a community dedicated to supporting the change in the energy culture of the organizations improving their skills/knowledge/awareness/know-how on the role of sustainable value chains in promoting the energy transition for small but also large companies;
- implement tailored and easy-to-use tools engaging companies operating in the same value chain, for:
- fostering the market uptake of energy efficiency and sustainable measures.
- assessing the multiple benefits achievable from collaborative approaches between large and small companies.
- provide policy/regulatory recommendations aiming at speeding up the energy transition.
The IIR’s role is to:

Assist in identifying stakeholders involved in the refrigeration steps of the dairy supply chain.

Assist in providing content for the training materials especially with regards to refrigeration technologies involved in the dairy supply chain.

Assist in translating documents into French, promoting and conducting national interviews.

Gather information on energy consumption of the refrigerated logistic activities in the dairy sector.

Organise and facilitate BETTED workshops at IIR conferences, co-sponsored conferences and other events.

Facilitate the publication of academic papers in the International Journal of Refrigeration (IJR) and other high impact journals.

Disseminate BETTED news through the IIR’s digital communication materials and social media.
Promote BETTED at trade exhibitions, international meetings and conferences.

Disseminate the final outcomes of the project.
