ECOWAS Sustainable Energy Forum (ESEF) 2023
The ECOWAS Sustainable Energy Forum (ESEF) is one of the largest energy events in West Africa.
It was initiated in 2016 by the ECOWAS (Economic Community of West African States) Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) to support investments in sustainable energy anchored on ambitious policies on the part of ECOWAS Member States.
The Forum has established its reputation as the benchmark event for energy stakeholders in West Africa and the world, bringing together over 1,000 players over the years, including heads of state, ministers and heads of development organisations, financial institutions and the private sector, all of whom are recognised in the energy and climate field.
It is a platform for improving the policy and regulatory landscape for private sector investment through engagement between ECOWAS policymakers, regional and international private sector stakeholders and financial institutions. It is under this context that the 8th edition is under the theme: “Empowering Sustainable Energy in the ECOWAS Region”.
The Forum will take place on October 12 and 13, 2023 in the city of Praia (Cape Verde), at the headquarters of ECREEE, and is organised in partnership with the Government of Cabo Verde.
