THE PAPER DESCRIBES A MATHEMATICAL MODEL, WHICH IS DEVELOPED TO FIT A NEW KIND OF ABSORBER DESIGNED FOR AIR PURIFICATION PURPOSES. THE MODEL INCLUDES VELOCITY AND MASS TRANSFER EQUATIONS WHICH ARE SOLVED NUMERICALLY. THE ABSORBER CONSISTS OF ROTATING, HELICAL SURFACES, WHICH INDUCE THE ACTION OF THE CENTRIFUGAL FORCE IN THE SYSTEM. MODEL PREDICTIONS SHOW GOOD AGREEMENT WITH THE EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS OBTAINED FROM A PILOT PLANT IN A PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY.
