Summary

Suggestions for the design of air conditioning systems in hospital departments for patients suffering from Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome; the best choice is thought to be air-and-water system with radiators. A specific design is proposed of a system with which two operating conditions can be chosen, one for immune depressed, and one for infectious patients; they differ in air change rates and pressure levels inside rooms. Switching from one condition to another is accomplished simply by switching two valves in the air ducts. E.F.
