Summary

In the air-conditioning field, cooling water is used to cool the refrigeration and air-conditioning units. Tap water is usually used as the make-up water of cooling water systems. Industrial water and underground water are also used in some cases. In the cooling water systems, there are three major problems. One is the problem caused by microorganisms. The other problems are corrosion of metal components of the equipment and scale deposition on the heat exchangers which reduce the thermal efficiency. In this article, the problem of microorganisms in air-conditioning cooling water systems and preventative measures are discussed.
