Air conditioning of auditoriums.

Summary

The movie theatre industry was the first to recognize and realize the benefits of comfort air conditioning. Five decades back, in India, if anyone wanted to experience the comfort of air-conditioning the only way to satisfy this desire was to buy a ticket for a matinee show in the city. Cities as big as Madras (Chennai now) had only one or two air-conditioned theatres - as a matter of fact one of the earliest air conditioned theatres in the city "Minerva" is still cooled by its original, 50-year-old air-conditioning system. Air-conditioned movie theatres and auditoriums are characterized by several special considerations in their system design which include cooling load calculation, system type determination, air distribution, and foyer air conditioning.
