Summary
Larger auditoriums with high thermal loads are favourably ventilated via a raised floor, if a raised floor is possible. This is either solved by a perforated floor covered by carpet or if carpet is not wanted by a perforated parquet floor. This solution was used in Germany successfully already in the 70s. In the last 10 years it was frequently used in new buildings since displacement flow was broadly accepted. But in contrary to the earlier air conditioning plants where no problems appeared, nowadays there are only a few buildings with this air conditioning system working as required.
