THE FUNCTIONS OF THE ALGERIAN TECHNOLOGICAL INSTITUTE OF REFRIGERATION ARE: TRAINING, APPLIED RESEARCH AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE IN THE VARIOUS DOMAINS OF REFRIGERATION AND AIR CONDITIONING. THE SUMMARY PRESENTATION OF THE ESTABLISHMENT AND ITS INFRASTRUCTURE ENABLES ONE TO MAKE AN APPRECIATION OF ITS CAPABILITIES AND LIMITATIONS: TRAINING COURSES FOR TECHNICIANS AND SENIOR GRADE TECHNICIANS ; TRAINING COURSES IN THE FORM OF PERIODICAL CONFERENCES OR SEMINARS AND, SPECIALISED SHORT COURSES. A RECALL OF THE STATISTICAL AND QUALITATIVE RESULTS RECORDED IN THESE DOMAINS AFTER A LITTLE MORE THAN TEN YEARS OF FUNCTIONING HAS ENABLED THE AUTHORS TO MAKE AN EVALUATION OF THESE RESULTS. VIA A CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF CERTAIN STATEMENTS AND CONTRADICTIONS, THE AUTHORS ATTEMPT TO DRAW OUT THE SPECIFIC ASPECTS OF SOME IMPORTANT DATA CONCERNING THE PROBLEM OF TRAINING IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES.
