Summary

THE DEVELOPING CHARACTERISTICS OF A THERMAL BOUNDARY LAYER IN A FALLING LIQUID FILM OF ABSORBENT IS DISCUSSED. A HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER MODEL IS PRESENTED FROM WHICH A SET OF THEORETICAL EQUATIONS ARE GIVEN. BY USE OF THESE EQUATIONS, THE TEMPERATURE AND CONCENTRATION PROFILE IN AN ABSORBER IS CALCULATED. THESE CALCULATIONS ALMOST AGREE WITH EXPERIMENTAL VALUES.
