An analysis of the hermetic reciprocating compressor acoustic system.

Summary

The purpose of the paper is to understand the reciprocating compressor's acoustic system through a simplified model that is composed of a simple expansion muffler and a square room. Many designers should handle muffler and shell design when there is a problem of cavity noise, especially in household refrigerators. Therefore, there should be analysis of how the acoustic system works. In the case of shell redesign, the oil and shell temperature range should be considered to select a safe region between two rotational harmonic frequencies. A case study is shown.
