Summary

A SINGLE HEATING/COOLING UNIT MAY SERVE ALL ROOMS OF A RESIDENCE, AND CONTROL BYVARIABLE VOLUME, BUT PROBLEMS ARISE DUE TO LOW TOTAL AIR FLOWS. A PROGRAM HAS BEEN DEVELOPED TO DETERMINE OPTIMUM DUCT SIZES AND MINIMUM DAMPER OPENINGS, IN ORDER TO KEEP WITHIN SATISFACTORY OPERATING LIMITS. PRACTICAL TESTS INDICATED DUCT LEAKS, DAMPER LEAKAGE AND DIRTY FILTERS AS VARIATIONS FROM THE MODEL. THE PROGRAM FACILITATES COMMISSIONING. A.R.T.
