Summary

There are two types of variable water volume (VWV): one is the controlled pump in constant rotation, the other is the controlled pump in variable rotation. In general, the difference between them is mentioned only in energy consumption to distribute the chiller water. But VWV with inverter-controlled pump can control the pressure and water volume, so that this system is able to control better the temperature of return chilled water. In this report, the differences of two type of VWV are showed in the measured temperature difference, longer operation hours of refrigerators, comparison of energy consumption and the performance of control valve.
