Bubble dynamics study with tangential nozzles in a bubble absorber.

Number: pap. n. 45

Author(s) : PANDA S. K., MANI A.

Summary

A study of bubble growth and flow behavior with tangential nozzle is studied experimentally for air-water in a bubble absorber. Bubble behavior is studied in still, co-current and counter current flow of water in the bubble absorber. Bubble diameter during detachment increases with increase in gas flow rate in upward flow condition, larger bubble is produced in quiescent water than in flowing water. Effect of air flow rate, water flow rate, water velocity, nozzle diameter, number of nozzles and position of nozzle on bubble diameter is presented. Results are compared with the available correlation in the literature which are found to be in good agreement.
