STORAGE TYPE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEMS ARE BECOMING INCREASINGLY VIABLE DUE TO RAPIDLY RISING ELECTRICAL ENERGY COSTS. CHILLED WATER AND ICE STORAGE ARE BECOMING COMMON AND EACH HAS ITS APPLICATION. IN PARTICULAR, CHILLED WATER IS APPLICABLE WHERE BUILDING EXTENSIONS OR NEW BUILDINGS CAN BE AIRCONDITIONED USING EXISTING CHILLER CAPACITY. CHILLED WATER CAN THUS BE GENERATED AFTER-HOURS. THE SAVING ON INSTALLED CHILLER CAPACITY OFFSETS THE COST OF THE TANK. THE OBJECTIVE IS LOWEST LIFE CYCLE COST.
