Summary

Transfer coefficients were mapped out using a constant heat flux method at the surface of two circular cylinders whose height to diameter ratios were 3.0 and 0.3, respectively. Cylinders were positioned cross to an air flow whose velocity was either near 1.0 ms-1 or near 4.0 ms-1 and turbulence intensity either 1.5% or 28%. The coefficient distributions both on the side and ends of cylinders are analyzed in details. Variations of the mean transfer coefficients on the end and side of cylinders are studied separately to understand the effect of H/D on the global transfer coefficient value better.
