Les compresseurs frigorifiques : dossier.

Type of article: Article

Summary

Compressor technology, whether reciprocating, screw or scroll, is evolving all the time with a view to optimizing performance. Gradual phase-out of HCFCs and introduction of HFCs have led to several innovations, particularly in the lubrication field. Reduced size, weight and noise levels are also being achieved thanks to in-depth research. Environmental issues are also a major concern. Certain corporations are specialized in compressor retrofit; retrofitted compressors can now have a new lease of life and sometimes two new leases of life; such policy reduces the waste equipment generated by the refrigeration industry. Rebuilding is widely used in the US industry but is just beginning in France.
