Type of article: Article

Summary

The article deals with the use of modelling and data processing in a detailed study of building ventilation, taking account of all the factors involved: heat flows, heat exchanges, air flows, pressure losses, heat and pollution sources, air distribution among different rooms as a function of obstacles, etc. A few examples are given, with the results obtained. All the corresponding calculations can, of course, be done before construction, using building designs, thus enabling the functional and economic choice of the heating, air-conditioning and ventilation installation to be optimised.
