Author(s) : CARNAVOS T. C.

Type of article: Article

Summary

THE HEAT TRANSFER PERFORMANCE FOR COOLING AIR IN TURBULENT FLOW WITH 21 TUBES HAVING INTEGRAL INTERNAL SPIRAL AND-LONGITUDINAL FINS WAS EXPERIMENTALLY DETERMINED. INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCE IS PRESENTED AND ALSO COMPARED AT CONSTANT PUMPING POWER WITH SMOOTH TUBES. THE FIN TUBES WERE FOUND TO PERFORM BETTER BY FACTORS OF 1.2-2.0. CORRELATING EQUATIONS ARE ALSO PRESENTED FOR HEAT TRANSFER AND FRICTION FACTOR THAT DESCRIBE THE DATA WITHIN + OR -6 AND + OR -7%, RESPECTIVELY.
