Summary

SPACE-TIME CORRELATIONS OF VELOCITY AND TEMPERATURE FLUCTUATIONS IN THREE DIRECTIONS ARE MEASURED. THE RESULTS ACHIEVED ENABLE TO ESTIMATE THE TRANSVERSE, NORMAL AND LONGITUDINAL COMPONENTS OF THE SCALES OF TURBULENCE. IN THE CASE OF A VERTICAL ISOTHERM FLAT PLATE SET IN A FLUID (AIR OR N2O) AT VARIOUS PRESSURES, THE VELOCITY FIELD IS FOUND TO BE THE LESS SENSITIVE ONE TO THE CHANGE OF PRESSURE OR GAS NATURE. IT KEEPS THE HIGHEST < MEMORY > OF TURBULENCE, PARTICULARLY IN THE MAIN DIRECTION OF THE FLOW.
