Summary

Mass and heat transfers are studied in the case of a porous material, through which a compressible or incompressible fluid is flowing. Mass transfer is represented by a monodimensional 2-parameters model, taking into account the variations of fluid properties. This model has been validated experimentally for a large range of operation conditions. The heat-transfer model is based on the heat balance equation. Simulations performed with this software enable to highlight parameters having a large effect on the phenomenon, like internal volumic transfer coefficient. As the experimental measurement of this coefficient is difficult, the software can be used to determine indirectly its value.
