Cryosurgery: current state and prospects.
Cryochirurgie : état actuel et perspectives.

Summary
Cryosurgery is a relatively recent tissue destruction technique. Improvements with regards to the equipment, the miniaturization of probes, and guided echographic controls have made it possible for cryosurgery to be developed in many fields up to now inaccessible. The complementarity with other techniques, the synergic effect during evaluation with chemotherapy and radiotherapy enables us to predict renewed interest in cryosurgery. However, the teaching of the technique and research funding is notoriously insufficient.
