Summary

The evaluation of performance is based on the degree of indoor comfort provided, the dynamic response to changing outdoor conditions or different indoor conditions, and energy efficiency. This paper discusses the basis for monitoring procedures and experimental design for performance evaluation. A strategy for testing multiple heating or cooling systems under varying outdoor and indoor conditions is outlined. Specifications for measurement parameters, monitoring instrumentation and locations, and data acquisition hardware and procedures are described.
