Design of ruthenium oxide-based thermometers for the millikelvin temperature range.

Type of article: Article
Summary
The authors conclude the following points: 1) ruthenium oxide-based resistors can be prepared as alternative thermometers to germanium ones; 2) both the R-T characteristics and the sensitivities can be altered simply by changing the printing geometry (changing the distance between conduction pads); and 3) the thermometers's low resistance and its sensitivity are competing properties which provide certain limitations on the design of ruthenium oxide-based thermometers.
