Type of article: Article

Summary

ENERGY CONSERVATION AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF BUILDING PROCESSES HAVE GIVEN GREAT IMPORTANCE TO THE THERMAL AND HYGROMETRIC CHARACTERISTICS OF BUILDING STRUCTURES. LITTLE INTEREST WAS SHOWN TO THIS PROBLEM UP TO ABOUT THIRTY YEARS AGO. IT IS PROBABLY THE REASON WHY THE STANDARDS ARE INCOMPLETE AND THOSE EXISTING ARE LITTLE KNOWN. THE PAPER SURVEYS THE PRESENT STANDARDS, STRESSING THEIR GENERAL QUALITIES AND DEFECTS. IT REPORTS ON QUESTIONS REQUIRING SPECIFIC STANDARDS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
