Summary
A detection method can be developed by using vibration transducers which are easy to install as basic tools. The strong non-stationary feature of signals must be taken into account and signal processing provides the means of determining the flaw by application of techniques which recognise this aspect (Time-Frequency Analysis, non stationary AR model). Hence, a pattern recognition with classification method is applied and use of neural networks allows "automatic" diagnosis.
