Summary

THE PAPER REPORTS THE RESULTS OF INVESTIGATIONS MADE BY THE TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY OF DENMARK ON THE EFFECT OF ASYMMETRIC THERMAL RADIATION. THE RESULTS SHOW THAT INSIDE ROOMS PEOPLE ARE NOT PARTICULARLY SENSITIVE TO ASYMMETRIC RADIATIONS AND THAT, IN PRACTICE, THE LIMITS OF THESE RADIATIONS ARE RARELY EXCEEDED. EVEN IF THE PERIPHERAL SURFACE IS COLD, IT RARELY CAUSES AN UNCOMFORTABLE ASYMMETRIC RADIATION ; HOWEVER, IT MAY ACT ON THE AVERAGE RADIATION TEMPERATURE.
