Summary

The natural convection around an occupant body caused by its metabolism was examined, along with how it influences ventilation. The research focused on a small office room with one or two occupants. The examination was performed with a water tank. The Reynolds number and Grashof number in the tank were equalized to those of the research model to simulate forced ventilation and natural convection respectively. The interactions between the tank behaviour and ventilation were studied. Several ventilation patterns were tested. The findings are presented.
